So I bought this regulator from Jeff at dsmchips a while back. It worked great till recently it failed on me, pushing fuel out the top and vacuum port. He has given me the option to replace it or do a part refund and I was wondering if anyone knows if this is worth trying again.

I suppose it would matter how much your getting back from the refund, and if you can put that money towards an aeromotive afpr. If you cant afford one then just get it replaced. Maybe some others have ran this regulator?

it is just an exact clone of the aeromotive, so i would just buy a diaphragm for an aeromotive to fix it. they don't last forever no matter if it's reputable or not. a real aeromotive diaphragm may hold up better. everything else should be identical about the regulator without any aeromotive branding. it just makes me wonder if they are made at the same place.

OK, so I will post some pictures and do some research on rebuilding it after work. Rebuilding it will get me by until i can afford name brand. I'm going to email Jeff back to see how much of a refund we are talking about.

Now that I think about it, the diaphragm looked just like one out of the knock off type s BOV's!.

all the rebuild is is a diaphragm. that is the only part that can wear out from normal use. they don't last that long really. if it was me i wouldn't go get another regulator after rebuilding it with an aeromotive part. if you rebuild it with the aeromotive kit for $30 it will be an aeromotive regulator minus the name aeromotive on it.

EDIT: here is the aeromotive rebuild: http://www.extremepsi.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=22432&cat=310&page=1

I had the same thing happen to me with the aeromotive fpr.. So I went with fuel
