fuel pump

just finished my turbo build and havent installed a high pressure fuel pump. it kinda lags when i step on it, is that because of not having a wally 255?

It could be a few things, first what turbo and injectors did you put in there?You may not need that big of a fuel pump but doesn't hurt to get it and future proof yourself depending on what you plan on doing with the car.

An aftermarket pump, and injectors should be on the to-do list. What are you using for Tuning?

I would look into a way to tune it for sure. Otherwise you're gonna kill it for sure. There are a number of ways to do it, If I were going to build a N/T car I would look into Megasquirt system for tuning. Quite a bit of info on here for that.

If you are still running the stock ecu then you will need to start considering a new engine management strategy. Essentially you have changed all of the parameters that the stock ECU was used to seeing including the Acceleration Enrichment parameters and it is most likely not delivering enough fuel (short injector pulsewidth) when you change throttle position rapidly.

With not running any management, it WILL blow up. At least get a fuel pump and SFMU so you can have the fuel pressure rise up with the boost.
