fuel pump questions

i need some help u guys know how when ur putting in the fuel pump an u disconnect the wires an the gas line how do u get the pump out after that i got stuck an had hella gas on me. can u guys help?

i have a 99 gsx

that big white ring threads off. i used a screwdriver and got it eventually.

once the ring is off, the entire assymbly pulls straight up and out.
