fuel pressure solenoid return hose ripped

I was just scanning my engine bay a minute ago and i noticed the fuel pressure solenoid return hose (not the one i have my boost gauge teed in to, the one coming out of the solenoid) is basically ripped in half. I am ordering a silicon hose kit from rre, i can use that hose on the fps right? I idled the car and it seemed like it was just a vacuum line.

The sensor doesn't really do anthing. Most people just eliminate it. That will no affect your MPG.
 
hmmm, doesn't it tell the fpr what to do? And if its leaking air there would it cause a boost leak?

When the valve is open it could cause a minor one. I would just run a vacuum line from the BOV to the fuel pressure regulator, and put a T in there that goes to the intake manifold for a vacuum source.
 
Here's what i did:
I disconnected the line leading to the FPS and hooked it right up to the FPR - bypassing the solenoid. That line is teed for my boost gauge, is that ok?

My vacuum at idle went from 15 to 19, who woulda guessed?

The FPR solenoid is there only to raise fuel pressure (by closing off the vacuum signal going from the intake manifold to your FPR) on hot starts to avoid vapor lock in the fuel rail. You did the right thing to bypass the solenoid. Less points of failure (you WANT the FPR to get accurate intake manifold pressure under boost), and I never had any hot start problems after nearly 150K miles of driving the car without the FPR solenoid. :)
