420A Fuel Pressure Regulator Missing?

Went to try and replace my fuel Pressure regualtor today, and it wasnt there.
As far as I know on my model a 97 2.0 non turbo it is on the end of the rail.
All that is there is the cap where you can hook up a guage.
Anyone ever hear of them being in a different spot?
the rail looks as if its a stock rail that hasnt been touched before, but who knows.

Moved to 420a bolt on.

You have the late model fuel system. Your FPR is in the back under the car by the passanger rear tire.

thanks this chilton repair manual said it was on the fuel rail for 1995-1998 2.0L non turbo engines.

that would be page 5-14 Fig. 40
