420A Fuel Pressure Regulator

Hey guys. So far I have Weisco Pistons, Eagle Rods, Intercooler & piping kit, Turbo Manifold, BOV, 38mm 8psi Wastegate, oil feed and return lines, Wablbro 255 Fuel Pump, 12:1 Fuel Management System, and last but not least the Hahn Turbo. I know I still need a boost gauge, wideband gauge, and oil pressure gauge. My build is based on 8lbs. So with that being said do I need a Fuel Pressure Regulator, and is it recommended to get a turbo timer? Any help would be nice. Thanks.

Turbo timers are a waste of money for anyone that can properly control their driving. All you need to do is just drive easy for the last mile or 2. Coasting down a hill will cool off your motor much more than idling, we are not a diesel motor.

Okay, so the turbo timer is a no go... so what about the fuel pressure regulator?

ok, its been awhile since i read the how-to's for the 420"t" conversion but at that stage dont you get rid of the 12:1 FMU and get a real 1:1 afpr? i think the 12:1 is only for a certain amount of boost and if you go beyond that your running ridiculously high fuel pressure. hell, with the 12:1 it gets REALLY high anyway at 8lbs. read up on megasquirt and other stuff. i found everything i needed a few years back on this site. check the 420a section.
btw, hes right: turbo timer= shit. dont need it.

No fpr needed, the fmu will be all you need for fuel.

Thanks guys, and thanks as well Josh. I didn't know if I needed one or not. I plan to go higher in a few years. So, when I decide to push 400hp or more, then more factors will come into play.

A 255 pump with no pressure regulator? At the least I would throw an older B&M unit on there. One that is made from a OEM Turbo core.

Or scale it down a bit and get a 190lph. That will be plenty and you can get by without a regulator.

No fpr needed on our cars with the wally 255. The fmu takes car of everything. Now if he was using the portfueler or ms he would need a fpr.

Thanks for the information and help. I have one more question. Is 8.8:1 a good compression? I plan on using pump gas (93 Octane) for now, and that's the what the pistons are that I ordered.

I ordered the 8.8:1 forged pistons. Sorry for the bad grammar above.
