the mechanical ones ae not good to mount inside the vehicle because of possible fuel leaks or explosions inside the cab.

If you want to mount one inside then get a electric guage

whats a AFPR ... air fuel pressure ratio... guessing... hmm yeah mine is leaking ... theres a big drip of it down my wiring on driver side mmmm can u say fire.... i just took it out any one got any ideas where to put it?

All you need to do is get a isolator. its a steel braided hose that hooks between your fuel line and gauge. the isolator is filled with antifreeze. the fuel pressure pushes on a diaphram, that pushes on the antifreeze, and the antifreeze pushes on the gauge to read pressure. so the fuel line stays under the hood, the isolator hooks to you fuel line and you run the isolator through the cockpit to the gauge.

Is your gauge a mechanical gauge or an electric gauge?? If you dont know, then what is the 4 digit Autometer part number on your gauge?

mechanical cause theres a line coming from it from the back with fuel in it IM SCARED NOW!! theres fuel on my wires!!!

Take that gauge out and mount it under the hood. Or buy an electric gauge to replace yours in your pod. Better safe than sorry.

The isolator is an Autometer part# 5282. They made one universal isolator for any pressure gauge up to 300 PSI. I keep them on the shelf here and they are not cheap!! Expect to pay around $85 for one anywhere you go.

I agree. The best place for a fuel pressure gauge is on the fuel rail or AFPR. It seems smarter to have it where all the adjusting is done rather than in the cabin.

what are you guys talking about if its under the hood how are you suppose to know what your fuel pressure is at WOT, .. ya know, the only thing that matters with fuel pressure .. i have a problem right now droping 10 psi fuel pressure between 5,500 - 7,000rpm. how would i know i was droping fuel pressure and how much with the gauge under the hood

Well, what did you do to cause this fuel pressure loss?

Most people leave their gauge on the fuel rail or AFPR because they do not wish to fork out the money for an electronic FP gauge. Then again, most people just set the fuel pressure, and are good to go.
