There really is no need to have a Fuel Pressure gauge mounted in the cabin. If you lose fuel pressure, you are going to know the second it happens, unlike say, oil pressure.

I disagree (respectfully, no flames). I have my FP gauge mounted in the cockpit and it helped me see that my stock fuel pump was having serious issues under boost. It was not able to hold the correct fuel pressure at even 15psi of boost, where the fuel pressure should be around 58-59 psi, my pump would peak at about 57 and die off to about 55 psi. That alone kept me from upping the boost until I had a 255HP and I've not had a single problem with fuel pressure since. My gauge is electric btw, I don't like having flammable liquids under high pressure inside my car, esp when the lines they're in are being held to the fitting with maybe a hose clamp or two. I don't care to have a fire.

I understand. I just don't like the idea of having high pressure fuel in the cabin. Looks like you did it the correct way :thumb:

I'm just a cheap bastard

Well, what did you do to cause this fuel pressure loss?

Most people leave their gauge on the fuel rail or AFPR because they do not wish to fork out the money for an electronic FP gauge. Then again, most people just set the fuel pressure, and are good to go.

i am dropping fuel pressure because i car grew up in Detroit and was stolen 3 times. the car was jumped over curbs, and what ever else. the underneath of the car is beat to hell and the supply fuel line is kinked really bad restricting pressure. i didn't find this till recently. now you can slap on a afpr and set it and off you go all you want, but that does not mean your good to go. your injectors could be maxing out, fuel pump maxing out, or like in my case, a fuel restriction. i think a fuel pressure gauge in the cabin is one of the most important things you can do. you HAVE to know your fuel pressure at WOT. its doing you no good under your hood. and what is so hard about adjusting static pressure with the gauge in the cabin? not a big deal

Yikes, any plans to replace that fuel line?

If you want a gauge in the cabin, by all means, get one. It's your car, that's what's cool about it :p

what are you guys talking about  if its under the hood how are you suppose to know what your fuel pressure is at WOT, .. ya know, the only thing that matters with fuel pressure .. i have a problem right now droping 10 psi fuel pressure between 5,500 - 7,000rpm. how would i know i was droping fuel pressure and how much with the gauge under the hood

If you mount the gauge on the fuel rail and want to know what the fuel pressure is at wot all tou have to do is pull the vaccume off the afpr while the engine is running at idle. Then adjust the pressure where you would like it and hook the vaccume back up. The vaccume being unhooked will simulate wot.

As for it dropping pressure at 5,500-7,000 You might want to check the fuel pump. Any good aftermarket pump should be able to keep up.
