Fuel Injector Metal Clips

I lost the metal clips for the fuel injectors and i am not sure if the dealer will have them or not but i was thinkin that the junk yard would be my best bet? And i dont know if a parts store would sell that kind of item? I have the non-turbo 2.0 1g

Good luck. Those things are a bi*** to source. I would start with the vendor on here dsmgraveyard and see if they have any. Parts stores don't sell just the clip that you need. They want you to replace the whole darn plug and the new plug will have a different style clip.

If anyone does know a mitsu part number for the clips please post up because I would like to have a few extra of them around.

Are you looking for the little release pin that's on the injector clips? If so, I seem to remember reading around here that some people have used paper clips to replace these.

You don't need the clips. Just loop a small zip-tie through the two wires and around the body of the injector. The clips won't come off until you clip the tie.

yea i thought of that too. i think that would work best til i got the clips

I'm doing a rebuild on my motor right now and when I got to the pulling out of the injectors and everything I didn't even have clips on mine, I was able to just pull the connector from the harness to the injector right off.

I have never had a problem with them so I don't think it's a big deal if you have them on there or not. Just be sure it clips in good and then pull on it a little to be sure it won't come off easily.

If it's not a good idea to leave it this way someone please let myself and the OP know so that I can also try to find some of these clips, or I'll just use GreenGSX's way of doing it when I get around to putting everything back together.

Another suggestion would be to get some late 2g clips (which use a squeeze method instead of the metal clip) and replace them. They work so much better!
