fuel gauge

fuel gauge started to work like _ _ _ _.

The gauge shows 1 time that I have more gas, and then have less gas. I never get an accurate reading of how much gas I actually have left.

Ive even driven till the E, and still have gas after that.

My light for the indication of low gas, has never turned on. Maybe I havent ever reached that point because the gauge isnt telling me the right things.
anyway I can check if the light works? also what can I do to fix my gauge problem

sup dude i have the same problem right now with my car the gauge is brokke it does the same shit but when i need gas the gas light does go on so im just lettin u know that

hate to say but there is no way to test it but mostlikely it does work so just drive around until it comes on

My light doesn't come on until after my gauge goes below E. If you never let it get that low, then that's likely why you haven't seen it. I've gotten over 40 miles after the light stayed on constantly so even that doesn't necessarily mean empty, although you should really get gas at that point.

On my GST the light didn't work at all, because I ran out of gas one time and never saw the light(I had just installed my fuel pump and was going to get more gas) But the only way I found out is to try and get another gauge cluster or whatever you call them.

Well eugenesxyby999 either your fuel gauge is bad or more likely the sender in the tank is (either bad or partially broken off so it dangles around giving strange readings - not uncommon). You can test if its the fuel gauge by touching the yellow wire going into the tank to ground (remove back seat to get at it). With key on the gauge should read steady full. You can test the low fuel light by touching the yellow-blue to ground with key on (this only tests the light - the sender thermistor could still be bad).

I need to wire up the cigarette lighter. I need a visual of how it should look like instead of words.


This goes the same for the reverse lights. I have a wire dangling behind my back bumper. It doesnt fit into the reverse light that I have.
