All fuel cut threads are combined here.

I've tried doing a search but to no avail.

I was just wondering what Fuel Cut is. I've heard it tossed around alot, but do not actually know the details behind it. And, naturally, I can gather that its when the fuel is cut off, but when and why.

Thanx,
Jon

Boost leak test! Fuel cut or not.

Also, there is no question that the 255 is overrunning the stock FPR unless something went wrong with the fuel pump installation, an AFPR is definitely needed.

ok i need some guru help. Ive got a 97 gst with just bolt ons. But the problem ive been having is fuel cut and it acts like it loads up at 18psi. But it just started recently since i put a new timing belt, air filter and plugs. Ive got an hks evc and the car runs fine on 12 or 16psi but if i push 18psi its cuts out:barf: . So please help me i dont know if i need a fuel controller or what. hopefully its something easy 2 fix.:sosad:

You need a larger fuel pump to run more than 15 psi, I would suggest a walbro 190 if you don't plan on upgrading your turbo much past a 14b/small 16g; if you buy the walbro 255 your going to need something controlling the fuel.

So grab a walbro 190 and be done with it, or a walbro 255 with an FPR and call it a day.

If your planning on sticking with the 14b the walbro 190 will be fine and you wont' need injectors... If your planning on turning the car into more of a monster later, you'll need the walbro 255 and some injectors eventually.

Fuel Cut has nothing to do ith Fuel.

If your hitting fuel cut with the T-25 then you have a boost leak. Make a tester and find and fix your leak(s).

A 190 Fuel pump is always a good idea and will take you alot farther then most people think.

That's right.

Didn't you just upgrade to the 255 recently? :p

OK i done a boost leak test and found two leaks a clamp and its also leaking around the tps. But i fixed the clamp and now when i boost 18psi it starts spittign and sputtering. Any suggestions maybe the fuel pump might help. also i couldnt get my bov to qiut laking while i was testing it, i even put all the washers and it still leaks so i couldnt cheak it that good.

Geeze, bring it down to 15 already. Your car can't handle anything more right now.

You still have leaks... so fix them. It's pretty obvious. Getting just a pump at this point won't do a thing since your ecu is reading the aircount from the MAF and saying "hell no."

Or you can just continue to kill your car on 18psi with the t-25.

I have a 99 gsx, and since i got my apexi gt downpipe and my hks carbon-ti exhaust on my car seems to have a fuel cut at ~5700rpm... I turned boost down, and my boost gauge showed im only running 11 psi on my 14b that is ported and clipped..

Is this fuel cut? Or is there something wrong when they installed my exhaust system?
