fuel cut? bad turbo?

hey guys, i'm new to dsm tuning. recently purchased a 97 gsx. there is a problem with the car. if i get on the throttle at about 3,000rpms the turbo will start to spool and then the car acts like it hits fuel cut, it cuts in and out rapidly, almost a jerking kinda feeling. However if i slowly build boost i can gradually go deeper with the thottle. Any suggestions?

First, start with the boost leak test, then replace the old spark plugs and wires with the NGK ones (BPR6ES for stock turbo) or (BPR7ES for 16G turbo).

My car had very simalar problems yesterday. My problem was a fuel leak. Found it now the car is great.

i had the exact same problem, turned out it was the spark plugs and wires.

Start by doing all the necessary maintnance. If there were no records given to you on when it was last replaced, assume that it never has been! Regardless of what the previous owner "said". This includes a boost leak test/ leak down test, compression test, ect.
