hey all, i need someone with experience to explain how i should go about to choose spring height and rate for my 92 awd. like everyone, id like to reduce understeer as much as possible. i plan on a rear sway bar obviously, i have adjustable shcoks as well.
im thinking get stock height springs in the rear with 1" drop in the front. stiffer shock settings in the rear also. im clueless as far as ratios (etc..) go for choosing a spring rate setup.
thanks-

I run 300's in the front and 250's in the rear of my rally car and it works quite well....Actually its very neutral but will oversteer when asked too or giving a scandinavian flick :) I just set my buddy up the some 400's adn 350's for his galant....seems quite good too but the galant could use just a bit more rear spring..... What your damping your springs with will also have a influance on the spring rate choice.... What are you using?

We are running 2.5" x 8" Hypercoils rated at 400F and 350R on custom valved Koni shocks and it works great. I have not even messed with adjusting the shocks yet since the setup worked so well right out of the box. The car has never been so smooth and has never handeled so well. It even takes some stretches of road better than my new Mazda 3s. My previous setups were KYB w/ Suspension Technique springs and then the same springs with KYB AGX shocks. Both of thoses setups were beyond brutal and handeled poorly to boot. We didn't do any autocrossing this year so I have to reserve my real judgement for when we put some track miles on the car. But I'm really happy so far.
