i was just reading how 6 bolt motors are becoming kinda rare. Well this got me inspired to write a post.

About 9 months ago i noticed a dsm in a parkinglot on the side of a new movie theatre in town, i thought nothing of it untill like four months later i noticed it hadnt moved. I was bored that night and i drove by to check it out. Oh yes it was a early model turbo laser. It is a teal color with black racing stripes on it. The pasanger window was broke out so i looked inside it had 234,000 miles on it, while feeling daring with the security cameras lookin at me i popped the hood. Holy cow i had never seen so many beauty covers on a dsm engine before this motor has never been played with at all, all the heat sheilds were on, the spark plug cover was on, and even the plastic cover on the bov was there. I didnt know there was such a thing.

So a few more weeks went by and i wanted to know whos car it was so i went into the movie theatre andasked around and found it was the managers. I got a hold of him and asked him what he wanted for it. Well he said the timing belt fell off at a stop light and it quite running. But the engine should still be good. I thought ok sure, thinking to my self this guy has no idea. So any way he said you can just have the car if you haul it off. So heck yeah me and my friends have since scored a free 1990 laser rst. Since then we have used numerous interiour parts and rebuilt and put the 14b on my friends 95 gst. and polished the valve cover and put it on my motor. You can see it soon in my gallery.

Now i am just wondering what to do with the engine. I just wanted to share my good fortune with everybody. Also if you need an early dsm coil pack or somthing i have one.:thumb:

I also scored the same type of deal. At future shop, the manager also had a 1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD which had a "blown motor." The blown motor ended up being a fried wire in the fuel tank going to the pump. I bought the car for $250 which included CAA free towing to my place. I sold the 155-155-155-155 compression motor for $1000 and dropped in an old 4G63 n/t I had lying around with the support needed to run it.

I painted the car satin black and fixed the interior.

Basically I got a perfectly running, winter tired, 500+ km to a tank, AWD car that cost me almost nothing to put on the road.

wait, so you took a 1990 awd with a perfect engine and sold the engine and dropped an n/t engine in it. what?!?!?!?!??!

not to be off topic, but...

a n/t awd?? WTF

..confused as well....

My bet is that since he live in Canada he wanted an AWD car. Also since he had another AWD, he wanted something with a little better gas milage. And since he had that extra motor he now had an AWD N/T car plus another $1000.:thumb:

Parts sure I could be intrested in a 90 coil pack

well when the timing belt "fell off" i am pretty sure that the crank pully spun, so the timing belt was still on and the motor woul crank over but the belt would not move and you could tell that pistons were problably hitting the valves.

Bingo. Very very reliable, slow, safe and quiet.

Doesn't matter, I just need an head OFF the car, while I rebuild one. Then later I will swap the rebuilt one onto my wifes car. I can even send you back the old head.

Or if someone sends me the parts (valve guides, valve seals, assembly lube, lapping compound) and money to have the old head cleaned/machined I will assembly and send off the head to who ever.

hey man. i will take that 6 bolt if you still have it. i have a coil from a 92' gst. i will trade it for that 6 bolt engine. hit me up and let me know. thanx
