2G Frame repair

The rear frame on my 97 gst is rusting out pretty bad, would I be able to take the rear frame out of a gs parts car and weld it in, or would it be easier for me to fabricate new rear frame rails and weld those in?

Unibody car so no frame to speak of, just front and rear subframes.
Is it the body sheetmetal parts your talking about?

No it's the rear subframe that connects to the lower suspension arm

If it's the subframe, no welding required and will be a bolt in affair. Find a good clean one from a GS or GST. I'm not sure if an RS is the same or if it's missing the swaybar.

Somebody might be able check CAPS/ASA to see if the subframe is the same part number for all the FWD cars.

2G subframes are the same for '95 thru -99. FWD p/n MB948996, AWD MB911290, & AWD Auto MB911291.
