Hey guys,
Just a quick question. I just installed a Ported 14b and Evo 02 housing on my 2g, other than 3" turbo back w/o Cat, 1g throttle Body, and HKS BOV. It is basically stock. If I am only looking to boost about 14psi right now is a AFPR needed. Ive talked to a couple people some say just cause of the 14b I should raise and monitor Fuel pressure others say 14psi on 14b is safe on stock fuel pressure..Anyone have any thoughts

thanks
:dsm:Chris,

Yea, Thats what i figured. For now it should be fine but i just wanted some one else's thoughts. Injectors, Pump, and AFPR were going to be my next mods anyway but not for about a month or so. So I was just making sure I'd be ok till then. Ive been out of the game for about a year so i was questioning myself heh.

thanks
chris,

Quick, easy answer: You'll be fine right now with stock fuel pressure.

Little more technical answer:One reason people run an adjustable fuel pressure regulator is the larger pumps (like a Supra TT or Walbro 255), many experience overrun of the stock regulator.

Another reason for upping the fuel pressure is if you're running lean and running out of injector. You can up the fuel pressure as a barbaric--in my eyes--way of adding more fuel (as opposed to doing it with fuel trims in the ECU).

Neither of these apply to you, so you should be fine right now. However, without a logger to determine air/fuel ratios and injector duty cycle, you may just want to run stock boost.

Edit: beaten out!
