FPR gauge needed??

To find your fuel pressure, you need a gauge. It doesn't have to be one that's mounted at all times in your engine bay; if you or a friend of yours has a 0-50 psi pressure gauge with a fitting, you can screw it into your afpr or fuel rail, set your fuel pressure, and then take it out. I'd recommend just getting the one that stays mounted in your engine bay; they're not expensive and it's nice to be able to look at your fuel pressure whenever you want to.

Plus, you can see how long your system holds fuel pressure when the car's turned off.

The 255 will most likely over-run the stock FPR. It did mine especially when I boosted, BLACK smoke and NO power.
I would do them together. Great combo and an additional tuning tool, the AFPR. Mark

Yeah, mine was the same way. A 255 w/o a regulator = black smoke, piss-poor gas mileage, and no power. Definitely do them at the same time. I would also recommend putting a gauge on the regulator itself. They only cost about $25, and it makes adjusting the regulator quick and hassle-free.

i ran my 255pump for a year with out a regulator.. ran fine.

I ran my 255 w/o a regulator for 2 years, and I though it was fine until I put the AFPR on. I had better Idle, more consistent WOT pulls and better MPG.

I had absolutely NO noticeable difference in MPG, driveability, power or anything else after intalling the 255 (re-wired as well). But I think when I pull the car out again i'll throw on an AFPR seeing as everyone on this forum is so horny about em. :D

Mine idled like crap, hesitated, bogged easily.. though no black smoke. It just cored out the injectors. One completely dead, one halfway, and the other two starting to fail. The dead one was constantly streaming (not spraying) fuel into my #1 cylinder, and #2 wasn't too much better off. Picked up new injectors, now I've gotta grab new plugs, or pull the ones I have and clean off the carbon so it'll hopefully stop misfiring.

Talesin get that gasoline contaminated oil out of the motor as it will eat bearings I believe.mark
