**I posted this at newbie forums but then realized that this is the right place to be, so plz any admin delete my previous post from Newbie Forum**

I got my Aeromotive FPR and Walbro 255lph fuel pump installed yesterday, since then my car is running slower than ever, my Fuel pressure is at 40 on idle. When going at cruise speed nothing happens but as soon as I go WOT the car will start banging and puffing big black clouds of smoke rapidly, and the car will stay in the same place. ( Sounds like its accelerating but its close to staying in the same place LOL )

When I arrived home I tried to rev my car and when it reached about 3.5k Rpms an even bigger cloud of black smoke covered the garage.

For the time being I wont be using my car since I dont know whats going on with her and I dont want to break anything.

Thx anticipated

Hose connected or disconnected?
It should be 33 psi at idle with the hose connected and 42- 45 psi with the hose disconnected?

How confident are you in your pressure gauge? Lots of reports lately on bad gauges.

Steve

Hose connected, I lowered the psi's to 33 but still the car bogs when I go WOT, Tried at 28psi and it worked a lil better but now my egt's are running higher

Dont know what to do :thumbdown

Does it has something to to with the fuel pump ? Perhaps something wrong with it ?

on a 2g its supposed to be set at 43 psi with the vacuum hose disconnected at idle. With the hose connected that'll prolly read around mid 20's not exactly sure. So if you are running it on 40 psi with the hose connected at idle thats probably like around 50 something psi with the hose disconnected at idle. Check it again to make sure its at 40-3 psi with the hose DISCONNECTED at idle.

Read a couple of posts up. That's directly from the 2G manual.

Make sure that the pressure does change when you disconnect and reconnect the hose.

If you have been driving long with this problem you might need a new set of plugs. They could be fouled.

From looking at your other posts it sounds like you have been backfiring for a while even before you put the pump and AFPR on.

Steve

First off I see you are venting your BOV to atmosphere, get that recirculated you are running rich. And do you have an air filter on this car? If not you may have had something hit your MAF and cause some damage. Also check your MAF connection and make sure it is tight, other wise you are not getting the proper air readings.

Good luck. Steve

I had that backfiring problem a few months ago, it ended up being the spark plugs calibration. I fixed it by setting them to "24". Then after that I didnt had any more problems with it until now that I have both FPR and Fuel Pump.

Im getting new plugs today and see what happens
