I have just installed a warlbro 255 fuel pump in my 96 tsi awd and now i have problems. it seems to be misfireing and it idles at about 200rpm. when i press lightly on the gas it will rev up a little bit. but if i push the throttle down any further it shakes and stumbles untill it stalls. if i let off it will run really shakey at 200rpm. I have double checked everything and it seems all right. I also took off the vaccuum line and pluged it off from the fuel pressure regulator and it is still misfireing to see if i had bad pressure. ANd the return has gas in it.

You have to run a dedicated power lead to the fuel pump from the battery and then install a relay using the old fuel pump wire to trip it open. You do not have enough amps to run it properly.

He doesn't need to rewire it, to make it work.
I haven't rewired mine and haven't have any problem.

It will throw out more fuel if it is rewire, I do know that, but is not need it to work good.

To the OP.

Fill up your profile to know what upgrades you have.

Also, Do you have an After market FPR.

The stock is not enough for your upgrade pump.

Give us some Info, about your upgrades.

Many people have ran 255's for years without the rewire. A 255 will overrun the stock FPR causing it to run very rich. Was anything else done to the car at all during the fuel pump install?

I'm not saying he needs to rewire the pump, I'm wondering if he rewired the pump at the same time he replaced it. In this case, the pump could be fine and it could be a wiring problem.

Well it turned out the o ring just wasnt sitting in there correctly and it was just sucking alot of air with the gas so its all better now so thanks for all the help. and yes i did rewire the pump when i installed it
