So I found out my 2g has a cracked manifold, well, two cracks in it. I was going to get a FP manifold but I was wondering about the porting?
Should I get it ported or not?
How would the ported vs non ported effect spool? Would the ported give me more steam up top?
I'm only a 16g car so was just wondering about the differences before I pull the trigger.
Searching only yielded "if you have the money get it ported" but not the effect it will have.
Thanks y'all

I have the FP unported w/ 16g on AWD 92 Talon ( bought that way ) ..... I have plenty of steam up top. If you want to spend the money and have it ported then do it. I will port mine at home here when I am doing this head gasket/timing set
I know this is vague, but I believe that porting on these aftermarket items is really more psychological then anything .... unless they are sell crap ( which FP is not ) it will be much better then our factory stuff. Just my two cents

Running any of their bolt-on DBB turbo's, i.e., DSM6156, DSM7164, & DSM7864 (or something similar like a HX40) then I (if it were me) could justify the additional port work but like other's have said, not on a 16g.

I see what youre saying. I still agree with the others here, if u plan on upgrading later, maybe. If not, I wouldn't bother. They already flow better than a stock mani and a stock manifold can support a good amount of power.

Not trying to "thread jack" but will porting help me out with my FP green? I'm probably upgrading to a black soon and I know it will on that setup.

Power limit where porting becomes effective? I know DSM flange isn't good for big power.

My FP spooled great with my 16g fyi.

This answered my question as well. I am in the market for the FP manifold currently and was wondering if the porting was worth it. I will just buy it the way it comes and port match it myself. Thanks guys

Thanks for the info,
From what I was told, You can't enlarge the runners or it will be bigger than the manifold that's feeding it.
