I’m new to this stuff and I’m in the market for a new manifold. My current cheap runners don't properly connect to the turbine housing and causes heat to leak out and melt my fans.I want to buy a forced performance manifold for my GST. I don’t know if I should do ported or not.

Is getting the ported version overkill if I’m just going for a fairly stock setup? Not trying to build a race car or anything.

I think the porting would be overkill for anything near stock. I got the porting option for a 20G and regretted it. The manifold is already larger than the stock manifolds by a good margin. Save your money and skip it. I do recommend the ceramic coating though both for keeping the cast iron from looking rusted, would help spool (albeit a very small amount), and keep your underhood temps to a minimum.

Appreciate the insight. I trust your judgement.
