FINALLY started to tear apart my 6-bolt that's been laying around for a while in my garage. I bought the motor from my old mechanic who got it out of his friends wrecked 2g that had a 6-bolt. Long story short, I pulled the oil pan off, and found this laying at the bottom. Kinda new to engine building, so bear with my lack of knowledge...
Doesnt look like a rod bearing, its (or was) a full circle, not 2 half moons. Hmm, any ideas? If I spin the rotating assembly it doesnt really make any abnormal noises, and spins free. Maybe it gets a bit harder in places, then it'll spin easily, but maybe thats because its been sitting for so long? Hope the crank is ok, if not, 2.3 stroker
Thanks for the help,
Brian

also your crank is more then likly messed up
i really hope not man
:, before you decide to throw alot of money back into the build if you do, i WOULD NOT get the crank cut. Dont take the chance with all that money you tie up into it. get a new one Mitsubishi says "they are not servicable" because of the treated nitride coatings on the journals of the crank, this leaves your crank softer and less durable (some people have success from cutting though so im not kocking it). But hey, your build.. your decision i would also take those few allen key plugs out of the oil galleries on the head and clean all them out good as well, better be more safe then sorry
