During my build, i was tearing my block apart to do a bsek when i noticed a bearing chilling in my oil pan. I realized it was my balance shaft. No at first i was like no biggie, im eliminating them anyway. Come to find out the rear bearing (which was the one that spun) had spun the bore way too much that the block off bearing would slide right through. So after researching about this problem, i only found 2 other threads about it, only 1 that made sense. Which was to unscrew the phillip tapered plug and drill a ½ hole to be able to tap the oil galley to a ⅛. But since im on a budget i couldnt afford to buy the right taps and tools and machine shop wanted $120 to do it. So what i did was get some dowel pins that were tapered at the end and fed them through the outside where the plug use to be and on into the oil galley till it stopped due to the tapered end. I then tapped it a little bit to get it in there pretty snug. Once that was done, i then re-installed some new plugs on block with lock tight and tighten it right behind the dowel pins to give it that little extra little push. Might no be the best way, but itll work and work for those who are on a tight budget like me.

That's brilliant!! It's always interesting to see how different people overcome problems.
