For those of you who have built drag cars.....

Not really a good location for this, but those of you here in this forum would likely have the information.

Looking for vehicle weight in the following configurations.

Full interior:
AWD minus engine/trans
FWD minus engine

Race interior:
AWD minus engine/trans
FWD minus engine

Anyone weighed their car as stated above? Better yet, anyone got a hard number for complete longblock weight?

Ideally, I'm looking for the above vehicle weights minus these additional components with their respective hardware: All AC, rad/fan, gas tank, crash bumpers, rear hatch glass, and hood, pwr steering pump.

I couldnt tell ya minus the interior.. but without AC and all but With the Glass and hood mine is at 2800.Atelast thats what it was last weighed in at and its on my title as well.I would assume if I replaced my hood and glass with lexan or plexiglass it might get to about 2600?? Jsut a guestimate on that one.I know minus my interior and all it would be about 2000 even.

I can help you out a little with this answer. Our race car weighs 2450 with the driver in it. So I would say the car ways about 2250 without th driver. This is a full race car lexan windows and all the safety requirements. I know an awd tranny weighs about 150 lbs, and the engine weighs about 175-200 lbs.

Some of the previously mentioned weights are wrong.

1g AWD transmission 91lb dry
1g FWD auto transmission 158lb dry

1g Longblock is ~310lb

Without cutting metal on a 1g, you will be hard pressed to get a FWD much under 2300lb and an AWD much under 2500lb. These are weights without the driver.

With a CF hood, alum driveshaft, cut out more junk wiring, scrape the sounds dampening material off the bottom of the car, and a few other tricks, I could easily get down around 2600.
