FMIC oil cooler reroute for us 90s guys

Hey everyone! Just wanted to post this here because I've been reading and searching tuners and talk for days now installing a Punishment Racing short route front mount intercooler kit on my 1990 GSX which involves relocating your factory oil cooler! Nobody from what I've read has added this step with pictures to their install guide and used the factory lines so this is what I did.. I bent the lines a bit with a wooden handle of a hammer and I drilled a hole next to the hood latch release and put a bolt through but couldn't get the oil cooler from sticking out at a funny angle. So, what I did was throw a stack of washers inbetween the oil cooler and the hole I drilled and it worked perfectly to balance out the angle of the oil cooler and tuck it up nicely behind the center support bar and the radiator. Tomorrow I'm going to make a small flat bracket out of sheet metal and bolt the bottom of the cooler down to the metal cross support under the radiator so that it's held on in 2 places. Not a bad idea. I have had really bad luck with trying to bend the stock 20+ year old lines on any car I have worked with. They like to split or kink quite easy. Otherwise that is not a bad location without having to do much modification.

Yeah man... I'm about to swap out my cooler and lines with a b&m and some braided lines with an fittings and adaptors, when i can afford it. My cooler fins are just so bent and smashed up and my lines are pretty old and crusty. It worked for now though!

After about a year, I did the same thing and went with a B&M cooler and AN fittings and lines too.

Yea I just used some high pressure rubber hose and routed it around the front. Works like a charm and clears everything nicely.
