Well, posting this log up to see what you guys think. Car running decent afrs for 100 octane gas and knocking. After the end of run the flywheel bolts back completely out and thats that. Possibility that it couldve been causing the knock?

When you installed the flywheel bolts did you put loctite on the threads? I would use red thread locker on them to prevent that from happening again. I have never heard of them backing out from knock.
 
The only time I've heard of that happening was with an aluminum flywheel. Bolts bite onto soft metal and over a period of time a gap forms and then the bolts back out.

Never saw it happen nor has it happened anytime running the Fidanza aluminum flywheel I have. Its a reason why some people say to install an auto tranny bolt plate so the bolts tighten down or a harder metal to help prevent backing out.
 
I had it happen with my very first flywheel change.

Make sure that you're torquing the flywheel bolts in stages and stop at 100LBS. Ensure, as well, that you're using red Loctite. Sometimes people say don't use it and sometimes they say do. From personal experience, use it. Don't glob it on there though.

Keep in mind you also need someone on the opposite side of the car holding the crank in place with a 1/4' breaker bar. My suggestion is to torque all bolts to 30LBS, then 60LBS, 90LBS, and then add that extra 10LBS on. This will make sure that they tightened down evenly and securely.

Couldn't have said it any better. Loctite and torquing in stages to the correct torque, and you shouldn't have a problem.:thumb:

I agree i have done this same procedure and never had a problem and that is what the manuel calls for.
 
No, I do not believe they backed out because of knock, I believe I was seeing knock BECAUSE they backed out and caused vibration.

I did loctite the bolts and torqued them to 100 ft/lbs. pretty sure my motors haunted ha. I am the second owner of the short block and this is video of the first guy that owned the motor. Bought it locally to.
