I have been having this clanking sound pretty much since Ive had this car. So somewhere around a year and 6 months. I'm thinking its a loose flywheel. Its best heard like in the video during shutdown. But it can also be heard tapping a little during idle. I'm hoping its not crankwalk associated, I have tried the sharp turn thing and the clutch does not stick to the floor so maybe we're good there. I have seen stuck starter videos and I dont think this is the same sound, as you don't here mine after startup. Well here's the video. That noise that continues after shutdown is the exhaust ticking cause its pretty cold out.

I can't watch the video since I'm on my phone but does the noise go away if u rest your foot on the clutch pedal. If so its probably your throw out bearing or release bearing. It all depends what you want to call it.

I haven't tried it yet but I believe it does it either way. One thing, it does it more when it's warm. I tried to take the video on a cold engine and it wouldn't do it. Had to drive it down the road and get it warm.

i just watched the video that is a odd noise. but i dont think its the flywheel if it was clanking and making this noise something should of happened by now. but you did say it happens more when its warmed up. you sure its not coming from the top end.

It sounds like its coming from the bottom back of the engine. You can kinda hear it a little when cranking the engine, a few clacks now and then at idle, but best when you turn the engine off. Also another good way to replicate the sound is give it a little gas and release the clutch fast almost killing the engine, then pushing the clutch back in before it dies. It has gotten a little worse the past few months. I'm thinking its the flywheel because I had an auto 240sx that sounded like that and it was the flywheel. I know the best thing to do is just dig into it, but I would like to get some direction on where to start looking.
