Fluid Change Time?

So im a new DSM'er and i picked up a 98 GSX , well first order of business as i see fit is fluid change, Oil, Coolant, Transmission, Transfer Case, and Diff. The car has 110k on it and a stage 2 shep trans. stock transfer case/diff as far as the previous owner knows, and they have never had the fluid changed as far as he knows as well.

I hear from my friends/peers that changing the fluid though in my diff/transfer case/tranny is not needed and may #### things up if everything's already going smooth (it feels smooth to me) but i figured why not just go ahead and do it and get it out of the way as i will have this car for many years to come, i purchased Redline MT90 and Redline heavy shockproof as well but now im sort of wondering if i should go through with it or not. What do you all think?

Your friends are wrong. Changing the fluids will not hurt anything at all so long as they are at the proper level. Thats like saying I shouldn't change my oil as long as the engine is running good. I would definitely go through with changing all of the fluids, especially since you just bought the car and there is no record of when they were changed last.

I would look at the power steering, brake & clutch fluid as well.

Blinker fluid too ;-) But on topic yes. It'd be better to change them yourself so you can keep better track of it. Better to start off at zero instead of ?. Be a good time to change plugs, wires, vacuum lines, pressure control valve, Boost Leak Test, fuel filter, and while doing all this check for fresh leaks of any fluid.

Depending on mileage and general condition of engine could do a seafoam treatment as well.

Also changing the fluid can give you an idea of the condition of the component. Sparkles and glitter look pretty but mean bad things most of time.

Plugs are brand new, vacuum lines look great(most of em are gone thanks to vacuum line delete mod), The FP Green Spools amazingly, dont know about fuel filter or pressure control valve. This car was super babied and garage kept, the door drip moldings are even original and perfect. The old engine walked so he dropped a new 7 bolt in it at about 90k he said, the car is done up, and done up right for the most part, just a few things to iron out of it and she will be like new again.

I did notice though after filling up that the tank doesnt go all the way to full, it was at like a quarter and only rose to about 3/4 so i think my floater might be bad.

Reason he sold it? Had a growin family and decided he wanted an STI.
