tranny fluid change

Okay so im doing a tranny fluid change. I drained it now everyone says it takes 2.4 Qts and you should see it come right up to the fill hole. I put in 3 Qts and i still can not see it. Does anyone know whatsup ?

are you checking the fluid in neutral .

Do you have the front jacked up at a ridiculous angle or something? It should be coming out by 2 1/2 quarts at most.

Manual trans right?

no its not jacked up, its level and yeah manual trans. wtf im worried now

where are you filling it? Should go through the fill hole in the front side.

Roughly how much came out when you drained it?

when i drained it i opened what i think is the fill hole and i could see the old stuff at the top then i drained it looked about right 2.5 qts around there came out. is the fill hole on the side in the front or on the top like almost right under the shifter cables ?

The fill hole is on the front of the transmission on the passenger side case.

No, just remove the fill plug and and extra in the trans will pour out from the fill hole. After it stops pouring out put the plug back in.

so were you filling it from the reverse switch or something? I usually fill mine @ the speed sensor (quicker and cleaner) than at the front, but make sure to put in 2.5 qts.
