okay im about to change my tranny fluid. im bored and have nothing else to do. i read on vfaq that the car should be leveled. how in the world to i even get to the drain plug and fill plug without jacking up the car. my talon is lowered if that makes any difference. can i jack it up just so i can drain it. this is my first time.

It is fine to lift the car when draining the transmission fluid/gear oil. Only when you are filling the transmission should the car be on level ground so as to ensure it is neither over nor under filled.

well duh LOL with the fill plug. but if the car is going to be leveled how am i going to reach the fill plug. i havent tried reaching in there. i dont really have an opening to fit my hand but is it possible?

(edit) its really cold outside. i dont want to drain it and not be able to put the fill plug back in.

The fill plug is on the very front of the casing. With the intake piping removed, it is very easy to get a socket on the plug and a piece of tubing connected to a funnel that runs down into the casing to fill it. Honestly, the intake piping takes no more than 5 minutes to remove or install.

It has to be level it doesn't have to be on the ground, jack stands the whole time is fine.

hahaha i only have (2) 2ton jacks. ill have to ask my friends if they have jack stands so i can jack it up on all four corners.
