floppy gas pedal????????

i noticced my gas pedal is real floppy it sits like and inch lower then the prake pedal and if i lift it up theres like an inch of space that comes up, is this a simple fix? is it somthing to do with the spring? let me know guys
 
Your throttle cable is probably old, worn, and stretched. Your throttle cable bracket on the intake manifold might have also loosened up and moved.
 
Loosen the 2 bolts for the cable bracket on the intake manifold. Pull the bracket towards the driver side of the car until it gets to the point where if you move it any farther the throttle body will open. Tighten the bolts back down.

well i broke the bracket a long time ago, right now its hooked up to the back of my jmfab mani with a bolt and a washer but theres no slack in it, its not like thers free play in itit when it comes off the ground, i can pull it up another inch off the floor
