I'm at wit's end with this car. Every time I get it fixed, something else goes wrong.
Currently:
Car is flooding itself out every time I try to start it. Can smell it out the exhaust, and when I pull a plug after cranking, its soaked in fuel.
Plugs are properly gapped, and all 4 are getting spark.
I have a KNOWN working MAF in
Car is perfectly timed
I was told coolant temp sensor, and replaced it with a new unit. I got the car to run a couple times, but then I pulled a code for the coolant temp sensor? So today I swapped the old one back in, and still won't start. It acts like it wants to right as you start cranking, then floods.
I also pulled codes for : MAF, IAT, and Baro sensor (put known good maf in, put known good MDP sensor in)
Background Info: When I first got the car, timing was off, but I'm 98% sure no valves are bent. It never had a problem starting though. Re-timed it, all new belts, car started up perfect. Next day took like 25 seconds of cranking before it started. Next day it wouldn't. Pulled plugs, and they were black as hell. When the car runs, and you rev it in park, when you hit boost, you can see a cloud of black smoke coming out the back, so that tell's me its always running rich.
I supposed I havn't changed the fuel filter, but that wouldn't make sense.
Maybe theirs a possible bad wire on the MAF? Ughhhhhhhhhh
Btw, car is a 96 awd auto turbo. STOCK STOCK STOCK.

, as I've never done it. There is a section about it in the Haynes manual though, I just skimmed over it. Autozone or w/e has fp testers you can rent.
