Just wanted to pass on some information, I'm not sure if I'm late to the party but I din't see anything.

Out of curiosity and recent interest in purchasing a carbon fiber hatch, I emailed Flexalite about availability for a 2G rear molded glass. I received a response from David at Flexalite and he told me the rear glass and side window are available through them.
Part numbers:
Rear glass - 9008B
Rear glass + small sides - 9008

I don't see them on their site to get a price but I'm sure you could call them. He also told me they are running free shipping and a nice discount in preparation for race season. Again I am not affiliated with them and I'm not posting to start a group buy, just forwarding what I was told.:hellyeah:

That's usually how the story goes, someone pays to have something custom made by a manufacturer and then they start retail them. Usually the price comes down a bit. A few years ago I contacted JE to custom make some pistons for me for a 4G93 engine which at the time no piston company was making them, and then they started retail them after I did the order.. I'm glad flex-a-lite will retail them. Ive have seen a few custom made lexan glass as well as percy's glass, and nothing compares to the Flex-a-lite molded glass as they are a direct bolt-in glass. Eventhough the might be a bit pricey even at retail price, they are worth every penny.

This is awesome and you don't have to buy the side windows either! Which can be a pain in the as to take out.

Op. did you contact them and ask how long it would take to ship?

What a freaking RIPOFF!!!

They jacked the prices up, then give you a code for "30% off and free shipping"

News flash! Go to Summit Racing and check it out, its cheaper shipped from summit by $50

Summit does not have the 2G lexan on there site. At least from my search they didn't.

Think the one you are referring to is for a 1G that summit carries.

So don't get your panties in a wad. This is half the reason why parts aren't being made for are cars anymore. People bi*** about prices being ridiculous.

I want to thank gabytech and the other guy that made this happen for the 2G originally cause without them these parts would not be available.

I placed my order for just the rear lexan today!

Yes, because for a year it has been listed at $650 on flex-i-lites website, a little more than what is listed at summit. Then I see this threat and see the 30% off with free shipping and decide to check it out. Yes, they raised the price $300 (the cost of 30% and shipping).

Sorry to me that is $hitty business. I am by far a cheap ass, I have nothing but top quality parts on my DSM $30k in it and probably $10k more before its done.

I'm just stating the fact that them jacking the price up and saying they are having a sale is a joke. Lime how you see vendors on here post the same products for sale over and over and over. Its not even a sale, you can call them and get that stuff at that price any day of the week. I'm pretty sure everyone on this forum should have a new clutch, brake rotors and lines by now as much as I've seen them posted in the vendor announcement section.

The product was released not even 6 months ago.

This thread is for a 2G.

What do you think most clothing or other retail businesses do when they have huge sales? You guessed it mark it up and make it the same price it originally was. But you feel better when you buy said item when you see the money you may or may not have saved.

Not saying you were cheap I meant we as a group

:ohdamn:

I understand that, what I am tell you is their $900 list price with the 30% off and free shipping isn't a deal. The 1G and 2G kits are the same price on there.

You guys think you are getting some sort of "hookup" but you're not.

Give summit a call or wait 2 months, it will be there for the same price as flex-i-lite's "sale"

I don't see it on summits website. Just the 1G is on there. To me it's a deal as I only need the back glass not all 3.

So for around $350 it ships next day and I lose a ton of weight. Id say that a deal ill take any day if the week.

I'm considering this.... $350 shipped is not bad at all

No I never asked them how long shipping would take.

I never meant for this thread to be a price battle but I can see where J_Heath is coming from. The reason I started this thread was to inform those who had no idea there was a group buy that the FAL molded glass was now available on their site.

Since it does look like most of the glass is cheaper from Summit than from the manufacture's site, I contacted them not long ago and they said they requested to add it to their site. Pricing and availability should be up in a few hours.:thumb:
