Flares, Rolled, Pulled Fenders

For the record my wheels were 17x9 +24mm offset. Tires were 275/40-17's.

If I had it to do again I'd go to 18x10 + 20mm offset and 285/30-18's as they're closer to the factory rolling diameter and readily available in the afermarket along with that wheel size and offset.

Out of left field with this one...did you have PS on that car, Kyle? I can't imagine throwing that much tire around on my manual rack.

Defintely had power steering, cruise control, even a cd player still. Thought about putting a/c back into it before it got parted out. Those flares are in someones hands now. Not sure they've ever been reinstalled.

I got 255-35-19's on my car and in planning on installing fender flares. Gonna cut out the fenders for clearance and rivet on fiberglass fender flares. Then going to break out the body tools and fiberglass the flare edges to make a smooth contour. Give me the perfect tire clearance for auto-x and street vehicle.

Will you please take progress pictures and post them up? I'd like to see them.

jus roll ## fenders using a baseball bat to get them to roll out fairly smoothly and use a heat gun to keep the paint warm so it doesnt chip as much then got to a body shop and have them smooth out the edges and touch up your paint if it chips

PLEASE DONT! Fender rollers are cheap and common enough now, that not using one would be stupid. I wanna say the eastwood kit new is only 200 bucks.

no baseball bat, that only works to move the inner lip out of the way a tad, just search CL in your local area for someone that does fender rolling of check out a few local performance shops, im sure they will have one or will know a place that does

What about the prefab fender flares you can buy on www.bodykits.com if I can find a set that fit the wheel well, I think I would throw them on and body fill them to look flush on the oem fender. Anyone try this yet? Or have any better solutions? I know it's a Hellaflush thing to do, but I'm not going get camber, just wide 17-18" wheels

fender flares wouldn't really help you in this case unless you cut your fender's where the tire rubs and i've done all my rolling with a baseball bat, most of the time looks better than if i was to use a fender roller. Must just be a drifter thing i guess

i wanna flare the rear fenders of my 2g. i think it looks sick. but camber on a dsm..ehh..i wouldnt do it. leave the camber to the vw's
