That's not a wide body kit.. There called fender flares, typically found on jeeps and trucks!

I can't find it, but one of the dsm wiseman's made a post about this car, said he found it on Facebook.

Got ya! I think it's unique to say the least!! Only thing I can say that I don't like is the tires seem to stick out further along the bottom and not the top (probably why he added the fender flares LOL)

This is seriously about the 6th thread this week about this car. And it looks rigged as hell. No blending, no paint, just bolted onto the fenders. If the car didn't have such wide tires, I'd call it straight rice.

alot of people in different forums have been doing this lately. its like its the new trend so people can run bigger tires without them looking stupid.

personally i think it looks kind of silly, it screams im to cheap to do a proper wide body kit but i can use a screwdriver and some sheet metal screws .

not a fan.

I would like it better if it would fill in the spaces where the stock body is.. Hell I think if he put mudflaps on it I would like it a bit better, help hide those wide tires!

Function over form, and to each his own. Anyone who tracks their car knows what it can do to the fenders and body when a tire blows or rolls off the bead, or even worse, when a suspension component let's loose mid apex, or when you drift too closely too a wall. In addition to these giving the extra clearance necessary to run much more aggressive width and offset, they also provide an easily replaced panel in cases of the above. I think they look great! Simple and functional which is what the sportsman racer needs. I'd of course paint them to match the car for appearance purposes but compared to every bodykit or "widebody" I've seen for the 2g, I personally think these look much nicer, sheet metal screws or not. Obviously, they aren't for everyone but for someone performance minded that doesn't want to be limited to a 255 tire, they provide an affordable and functional option. To me, its no different to you guys calling it rice, that are running unpainted carbon fiber hoods, is it not?

It would be nice if any of the vendors engineered a custom made set for both 1g and 2g. I am talking about a properly designed set, with separate parts that bolt to the body and bumper / body panel without looking like a race car or a wannabe one. I have been looking for something like that in order wrap properly the wheels on my 1g. After I installed a set of evo VIII rims, due to their smaller offset, I've seen a lot of chipping of my side skirts that was not there before, also you can clearly see the tires sticking out from the fender a little. I believe in some states it may cause you to fail inspection (not sure), mine passed in NJ anyway.

I actually pm'd CFeclipse here on the forums about this. If more of you pm him, he may see what a hot commodity this is! He makes some great composite body panels for our cars already and for those of you bitching about the sheet metal screws, we may be able to get him to make a complete replacement front fender so only the rears would need to be fastened, unless he came up with an option for that too???

Imo it looks sick specially with thoese tires, Im wondering if he cut the fenders in order to fit the tires in and that is the purpose of the flares. Can these flares been blend with the body with some fiber glass?

I like it. I've actually thought about doing it, but could never source the actual flares.

I'm interested in which ones he's using.

If you guys are interested in these, please pm user "Cfeclipse". If you search his name, you'll see who he is. I've been working with him on making these in a bolt on set specifically for our cars in both fg and cf. He has already agreed to make them if there's enough interest so the more people that inquire, the better chance we might see this happen!
