Just got a 95 TSi AWD last week (Bone Stock), I've been thinkin of getting a BOV, just wanted to know which is best for my car and what other upgrades are best for me. :talon:

Air filter, boost gauge, free mods, Upper I/C pipe, 1g BOV. That will get you started nicely. After these think about a boost controller and an exhaust. By this time you should already be reading the stage 1 upgrades and being on your way to 300hp.

Wow that was fast, thanks for the info. 1 other thing, a friend of mine is putting his raced out eclipse back to stock so he can sell it, I could get parts for cheap from him... I just wanted to know if it would be worth it to buy used or to spend the extra buck and buy new.

what are you kidding? youve seen how he treats his car and his parts, you know how the parts performed on his car, and you can look all the parts over IN PERSON. Dude, go the cheap route.

I agree with siceclipse. It's one thing to hesitate before buying used parts from a stranger over the internet, but when it comes to someone you trust you can find out how old the parts are, how many miles are on them, and how well his car performs over stock. It would give you a ballpark idea of what to expect out of your car once their installed.

Dude dont get a BOV that is a waste of $. Go get a MBC, some PVC from homedepo and make some intercooler piping, and buy a dremel and port out your exhuast mani.

BTW: www.vfaq.com its a wonderful site check it out

the guy has a 2g with a plastic BOV that leaks at 7psi and cracks to pieces at 12psi and you think he shouldnt waste his $20 for a metal 1g BOV that holds 22psi? ROFL

Oh wait, i read what you said again.
You think he should spend his money on a boost contoller so he can spend money on a BOV faster? that deserves 2 ROFL ROFL

Its up to you Talon_n00b: you can listen to the Rookie with 8 posts or you can take my advice. Its not like the guy down the street from me is doing the same to his 95 TSi AWD step for step.

As said before, Intake, replace that plastic POS BOV with a 1st gen one or a Greddy, boost guage, MBC, catback, downpipe, and all the hard intercooler piping.

Next up get rid of that T25, cheap alternative is a 14B, guys have ran those into the 11s, so its preety capable.

Good luck :thumb:

What is with you people doing cheap a$$ work on your cars? :barf: :barf: :barf:

A 1g bov can be had for 20-30 dollars. It is also a really good mod to do to a 2g, not a waste of money.

Because i didnt think he ment an 1g bov, i assumed he was going to get some rice bov

Because $90 for a peice of pipe is a rip. Your better off DIY. The flange i can understand.

My opinion is do all the Free mods you can like removing the Restricter in the boost controller. then id Remove the Silence for the Turbo.. its a plastic box on your lower IC pipe. then i would Start small... Like Get Better Plugs and Wires.. Then Get a Downpipe.. You can Get a nice one for about $150.. That will Help you spool faster.. then upgrade your turbo either to a 14B or a 16G.. 14bs run about $200 16Gs can Run Between $400 and $650... Then id Get a Walbro Fuel Pump... $100 and easy Install.... then id Get 550cc or 650cc Injectors... $250 then.. A Fuel Computer like an SAFC for like $200.. Then Comes the Big Money.. youll Need to Get a Boost controller.. like an AVCR or a GReddy Profec.. To Keep your Boost Below Fuel Cut...( The Manual ones Wont Work Because they can only go Up)..... Then Its all up to you.. you can put Suspension... a Full Exhaust... Good Luck Man

Oh Yea and maybe a Intake Pipe From Ebay They Run Like $60 and they are actually good.. And they Have the Rec. Part for the BOV.They look Just Like The INjen.. . But i do think They Are right about the 1G BOV.. Its a Great Mod.

A boost gauge should be the very first thing you should invest your money on. Don't even think about getting a boost controller without having an aftermarket boost gauge first.

Yes, I've heard of it. It's an ebc with some nice features. What I didn't know is that it had a built in digital gauge. That's cool. They're a bit too pricey for my taste though. I'd rather spend the money on a mbc and a mechanical boost gauge and use the rest for other mods. But that's just me trying to save money whenever possible. But if you can afford it, it's a nice device. Very usefull features for traction on fwds.
