Hi everyone, this is my first real attempt at working on my DSM. I've got a few mods, but nothing serious... I want to start data logging, but I've got a few questions about it. First, I have a dell palm pilot (don't have the model # on hand, i'm at work and will repost it when i get home), will any old palm pilot work as long as you've got the right program on it? Which leads to my next question, where can you get a logging program for it? I also would like to know how it hooks up to the car, and what I'm going to need besides the palm pilot and cables it came with to get it running... I realize that a model # might be needed to answer some of these questions, but I figured i'd shoot and see what kind of general answers I could get before I got home so that I could get the ball rolling when I got there.

Yeah I know wrong window originally... i posted it before realizing that wasnt the PM i was trying to send, i edited it though :coy:

Most of your questions can be answered by going to pocketlogger.com. The rest has been discussed many times. Search function!!

Yeah I tried searching a little, but my internet here at work is slow (aircraft carriers suck). I haven't found that website until now though, thanks for the link.

palm n stien is fine , All they data logger is doing is showing you the data the ECU is seeing its not altering it. The Palm N' Sten is just harder to use , According to some ppl

i found out i cant use pocketlogger with my dell palm pilot, but found a palm m515 with dsm programming and all the hookups in the classifieds on here for $110 shipped... anyone think i should jump at this deal?? I don't have the cash to go for a DSMlink right now, this sounds like a good idea for right now.

I dont trust Palm n' Stein. MMCD is way better.

I think MMCD is only for 1G. PalmStein is good as long as you don't use usb, because it only exports files to serial. It's all buttons too, no stylus...which you will either love or hate.

OBDGauge is also free. Looks nice but it's slow as dirt. However it exports to Excel with OBD Graph. It's DTC reader is buggy as hell.

To OP, $115 is a good deal if it comes with OBD2 cable/adapter, and software. Especially if it comes with pocketlogger software.
