I looked around on the forums and didn't really find anything other than priming the oil pump which has already been done. I guess I just want to make sure that there is not something I should do or look for on the first start up after my build. so far I know to adjust the FPR and to listen for any weird sounds and check for leaks. Anything else you guys think would be good to do?

Yea that's all i thought I had to do but just wanted to make sure that there wasn't something that I was forgetting. Although I'm not sure that I want to break in my engine that way but everyone seems to swear by it on here. I guess I'm just weary of doing a WOT pull after a fresh rebuild.

I like to change the oil after the first warm up but then again I am weird about that kind of stuff.

I would start it up and check for leaks/problems and then after it gets to temp I would shut it down.

Then I would change the oil and re-torque the head studs (I have ARPS)

Then do a couple 3rd gear pulls (link 1983gsp posted) and then change oil 20 miles then 100, 500, 1000, regular interval.

Well I was doing my first start up today and then found an oil leak, shifter cable problem ( which of you guys could help me on please see the thread I just posted) and a small fuel leak at my FPR. But it started up and ran good. I just can't drive it because of the problems. Mainly the shifter cables. :(
