Alright guys, my buddy told me about this forum and I thought I'd give it a whirl. So first off let me start by saying i own a 97 Eclipse GST, It's my first DSM as well as my first turbocharged car. I picked it up last April, and since then haven't done anything as far as mods to it, just regular routine maintenance. The car is completely stock other than Tein coilovers, full exhaust and aftermarket intake filter, a friend also helped me to my boost restrictor mod.

So I'm having a slight problem with fuel cut. Like i said I've had the car for almost a year, running fine, puling hard to redline without issues. But tonight after installing my 3" turbo back exhaust, my car seems to be hitting fuel cut under WOT around 5k. My guess, boost creep??? The exhaust deletes my cat, so im basically 3" to the muffler tip with 2 small resonators. Not looking to make crazy power at the moment, but would like to get rid of the fuel cut, any ideas as to how or why its happening?? BTW turbo is stock t25, no boost controller, still on factory boost solenoid with mod. Thanks a lot, ill be sure to make myself active on the forums.

Fuel cut is a pretty common problem with stock cars once you put an exhaust on them. I'm sure there are a bunch of threads on here about fuel cut and how to get around it.

The only solution I know is to get DSMlink to tune the car and avoid fuel cut.

edit: Here are some threads about fuel cut

Well, i guess i didn't mean "normal", i meant more so that it's a common side effect. I was reading that last link there, and a lot of people were saying 2 things, one was that the stock o2 housing can cause the problem, and also the stock boost solenoid could be stuck. They were also saying to just run a straight vacuum line from the wastegate actuator to the nipple on the compressor??

on my first gst I had a similar problem may not relate to yours at all but im going to pitch in. I had stock turbo 3inch down pipe and exhaust no emissions k&n cone on the maf and did the restrictor mod on stock 2g blow off valve. The bov was poping open under wide open throttle. I bought a knock off greddy at the time (before I knew how to build a good one) and problem moved to 6k rpms. took it to a local performance shop and they instructed the wires needed to be replaced and that most oem equivalent wires were trash for performance use... I did as instructed and ordered some magstar 9mm... all problems ceased car ran great.... till I 16 g and crank walked it...*sigh* but boost gauge is top priority! if blow off valve is leaking you will see pressure flux on gauge. I run a t60 on stock o2 housing with no problems... other than I fry o2 sensors a lot...

Running a line from your boost source to your wastegate. This is called "running wastegate psi" which is around 10psi. You won't be able to boost more than your wastegate pressure. I would suggest doing this.

The BCS mod only gives you a couple more psi from your stock boost. So running wastegate pressure would allow you to run more boost.

There is no way you are hitting fuel cut with a BCS still installed. Run WG pressure. You can't hit fuel cut doing so unless you have like...240cc injectors or something stupid.

Your problem is elsewhere. Probably a boost leak.

Im sure your right about a boost leak. I know for a fact that one of the vacuum lines to the EGR valve is disconnected.
