hey guys, things are going real smooth thus far,, i have the transmission out and thanks the the vfaq and hanes and other sources, the process was painless

i just put my resurfaced flywheel, street disk, and act 2100 pp on and my question is as i was looking at the torque specs for the pp bolts, it says about 14 foot pounds -- is that really all?????WTF

anyone have problems out there with these things falling out???

its so little torque in my mind

need a little peace of mind from you guys if youve done the job and are having no problems

14ft/lb is correct, I always used the "armstrong torque wrench" on mine and never had an issue. You just don't want to snap a bolt off in the flywheel.

The pressure plate basically acts like a huge split washer and keeps the bolts under tension almost the entire time, making it more difficult for them to back themselves out.

14 ft-lbs is plenty. I use blue locktite on the pressure plate bolts and so far not a problem. Any more torque and your risking shearing the head off.

ya i used lock tight as well,, ok well good, i feel a little better about it, tranny goes on tomorrow -- thanks guys for the info

dont use a cheap torque wrench, i actually snapped a head off because the torque wrench didnt click at such a low torqe setting. It was wasnt fun to take off the flywheel and use a easy out. Sucked then i had to order new pp bolts. Which you should do anyway if those have been in for 10+ years its a good idea.
