First off the car is a 1990 colt w/4g63t mods:s16g, walbro 190, fmic, 550s,2-1/2 exhaust, ported 2g exhaust mani. Every thing is zeroed out and I'm at 10 psi but it falls to 8.5. It seems my acceration is not smooth. Other than that it doesn't seem that bad.

Everything looks good. Start leaning out the fuel. Obviosuly your too rich. I would say go as much as -8% from 3,000 and up and see what that gives you. Boostest seems to be right at 10psi is which what you said it was set at. As for the choppy rpm signal try changing the spark plugs. Which ones to do you use and at what gap?
 
I set the boost to 15 psi did a pull with fuel and timing zeroed. Had some knock so I added fuel. The first log is zeroed out the second is when I added fuel.

Everything still looks ok you need to start leaning out the fuel. Go to -8 on the fuel sliders from 3,000 and up. You need to come up above 10.0:1 you are still too rich. Also go on the knock options under the Ecu/Logfile tab and under "activate above" put 2800 and "tps above" input 30 and save it to the ecu.
 
Alright from 3k up I went 7- on the fuel sliders and made two pulls. Check'em out.

It'll be just before the engine goes KABOOM! LOLLOL Just kidding. When you're unable to lean it out or increase timing anymore. Of course you'll be able to get the most out of it with race fuel. Happy tuning.
 
So I sould lean it out untill I see knock than back off alittle and adjust timing.
 
Yes in a nutshell. But if you lean it out til you see knock, i doubt you will have room to add timing. That's where a wideband comes in handy. You lean it out to your desired a/f ratio (usually 11:1 or 11:5 on pump) and then add timing til she knocks.
 
Whats a good timing curve?
Should you just keep turning up the boost and tuning for your desired air fuel ratio and timing curve for max power??
 
I took a look at your logs. Your still rich. Lean it out from -7 to -12 from 3,000 and up INCLUDING 7,000, 7,500, and the 8,000 rpm tabs. It doesn't matter if you don't rev that high we want them uniformly. Keep leaning it out until you see about 10.5:1-10.8:1 on the estimated a/f ratio. Leaning it out took care of that tiny knock you were getting from being too rich up top.
 
I made 2 pulls with estimated air fuel ratio at 10.7/10:8:1. One run I got no knock on the other 5 degrees. Is this phantom knock or still rich knock.:confused:

I'll try setting my fuel sliders to 11:2:1 from 3500-8000. Is the goal to first get the air fuel ratio you want than the timing. Also does the optimum air fuel ratio mean no knock, or if your getting knock at the optimum air fuel ratio does that mean you adjust timing???:coy:
 
I've never had much luck tuning upto 16-17deg timing on pump gas with AFR leaner then 10.8 it might be my car. When ever I tune for AFR of 11.1 I normaly have to give up -1/-2 deg of timing above 5000rpm to keep knock under 1.7deg retard. If you can do both, awsome...
