very nice, i like that tb elbow and its angle alot, better then my 2g tb elbow which is angled to high and i had to clamp my gm maf to it and make both ends of the hose kink slightly down at slight angle to face down towards the bottom of the radiator, with our shourt route piping. id be interested in getting just that elbow to help my custom pipeing set up.

I'm not diggin' the angle the TB elbow is at shown in the second pic.
:barf: Haters, haters, haters..... :thumbdown To the haters---> :barf: I think that kit looks damn near immaculate!! Dont listen to jealous dude over there. The TB elbow suits its purpose with functional form well. It looks like it bends like that so everything clears the CAS, fuel feed, and T-stat housing, well, from my point of view anyhow. You said thats a SBR FMIC kit? Sure looks better than my STARQUEST. Nice pics and well put together :thumb: Im jealous... :talon:

They're not jealous, they just don't like it. This thread is for comments, and people are posting them.

With that said, I think that elbow looks smoother than the stock 2g one...

btw what did you have before the FMIC. JW cuz if u had a stock SMIC with a 20g i bet that wasnt to much fun

i think itsa temp sensor. its screwed into where that little alan plug is
oil pressure greddy style, very nice.

As for the oil cooler for the power steering, I am thinking about doing the cooler unit for my power steer pump also, I just used a piece of high temp line and looped it right at the resivor bottle, but it does get warm. Very clean.

My ghetto solution to relocating the coolant bottle .. kind of looks like ass but less ghetto than a gatorade bottle .. :D :D[/IMG]
LOL, I have mine the same way, been like that for a couple years

I just got through breaking in the new motor, so I never ran the 20G above 6 or 7 psi of boost on the SMIC. :thumb:

I can't imagine not having a/c here, not even the 2 45 system works in the summer :thumbdown

Pics looks nice, I'm surprised that you needed to ditch the a/c.

I kept the a/c on mine and I had the racecore....he prolly just didn't want it. But here in GA with a jet black car....your damn right im keepin a/c

Only thing that sucked for me was I had external dumping o2 housing and LICP hit it so I had to ditch it for something else.

I did something with my Power steering... I used a PS cooler from a honda CRV... worked quite nicely.

That sucks, when I got my "race" core, my black couplers didn't have the "SR" logo on them... :p

I wonder why..
b/c you got their supplier's (kinetic) kit and they did not repackage it??

Yeah my cousin got a SBR kit last year and all the couplers said "kinetic Motorsports" on them. Hmm maybe SBR doesnt make there kits themselves? I ve seen a few people selling Kinetic FMIC Kits and they look identical to the SBR.

So to purchase this kit we need to relocate the power steering lines, relocate ac lines, cut through the radiator support, relocate the overflow bottle, and probably trim some of the front bumper to fit it? Definitley not a bolt on FMIC.

yes, kinetic makes the kit as well as the big manifold everyone wants...

differences between the 1g and 2g I suppose... for the 1g it's practically a drop in as I can attest from the pictures of Stock's buildup.

It comes with bolts = bolt on ;)

I agree that more should be said about what other "mods" need to be done, but figure the pains of "short route" piping have been around for 10+years /countless threads and those needing such a large FMIC are more likely to be mechanically gifted :)

Hell, my anemic 18x6" RRE FMIC required me to cut the bumper support and move the PS lines/coolant bottle

Installing a FMIC is not a "basic mod" in most cases, there is going to be at least some amount of modification to get the intercooler to fit, or to route piping around something. I did have to use a cutting torch on the bumper, but I was prepared and had the tools on hand to do it. Not everyone has an oxacetylene torch and a MIG in their garage though. :D

I did this install last week. I took me about 12 hours without a cutting torch, using a pneumatic cut off wheel. It's a major PITA to trim the bumper without a welder. I used up three 3" cutting wheels. My 6HP 26gal air compressor basically didn't stop for about 8 hours.

I also found that a hole saw on the rad support didn't work for me. It wouldn't take a bite. So I drilled the area out and hit it with a die grinder for clean up.

There are two type of hole saw blades, bimetal (white) for metal and carbon (black) for wood. Obviously bimetal is the right one to use, and unless you have the pilot bit you'll be cursing a very long time ;)

I used a Sawzall with a Tungston-Carbide blade for the bumper trimming which worked well for me :thumb:
