Finally got the FMIC installed (pics)

There are two type of hole saw blades, bimetal (white) for metal and carbon (black) for wood. Obviously bimetal is the right one to use, and unless you have the pilot bit you'll be cursing a very long time

I used a Sawzall with a Tungston-Carbide blade for the bumper trimming which worked well for me

Yes I was using a metal cutting blade. However with nothing for the pilot drill bit to center on the blade would catch on the raised lip of the support and chatter off line. Using a drill and die grinder it took me about 15 minutes a side.

YEah I did the extreme intercoolers street kit install on my 91 tsi and it WAS NOT A BOLT ON AFFAIR. First the kit claims that it's one of the only types that you don't have to cut the bumper support,well they don't tell ya the fmic is gonna hang an inch or two below the bumper. They I had to do MAJOR hogging w/ die grinder on both sides of the radiator area. Had to get a new PS cooler and mount it around the fog light area. Do some bending on the ac lines and made them leak. then I had to trim off 1.5" on the lower ic hot side pipe because it was too long. I was very unimpressed with the kit after paying $825 w/ shipping. I say if your paying that much money for a fmic kit, a 5 y/o should be able to install it. I wish I would have saved a butt load of cash and made my own pipes, cause I thought I was paying $825 for quality AND convinence.

NO way does the SBR blow through piping fit on my ABS equipped car. I have a 91 with a 90 thermostat housing. I can't remember if the 91 housing is smaller.
