Ported and clipped 10* EvoIII 16g I bought from Travis (KPWSerpiente on here), along with the SAFC-II, and Palm VX with Pocketlogger and cable that came in the mail yesterday ;). Travis was nice enough to drive out and chill for a bit, and let me check out the turbo. He threw in the IC piping to hook up to the stock sidemount, but that's not in the picture. If I didn't have exams for the whole next 2 weeks at school, this stuff would already be installed--but for now, it will have to wait! Thanks again for a great turbo, Travis.

I wanted to ask you all if there is anything you would recommend to me before I start installing this stuff--any weird problems that typically pop up in installing the turbo or SAFC.

Did you make a mistake I can learn from without repeating!? If so, please share ;). I'll post installed pics as well, but that won't be for a few weeks yet :(.

Installing everything is pretty straight forward. The biggest mistake I made when installing my safc was using electrical tape, instead of sodering (spl) the connections.

on my safc install i used wire taps and shrink tubeing.. as for installing the e16g you are going to need a ss oil feed line.. and a 1g return line that usually makes things eaiser. a couple days before you install the turbo drench the mani studs with non flamable pb buster or some sort of lube.

you really ought to replace the nuts on those studs with 13mm units. make sure to get a new gasket from the mani to the turbo. and turbo to o2 houseing. and probaly o2 to down pipe also. make sure to get new coolant and oil. new crush washers for the banjo bolts. you may have to tinker and modify the coolant lines because those too are a pita..

i beleive slowboy or rre makes a install kit for a 14b/16g/20g turbo on a 2g which is pretty comprehensive..

also when installing the safc the diagrams in the apexi instruction are looking at the wire side of the ecu connector.. so dont assume they are the other way like i did. this makes for a tempermental afc.. also read and setup the safc before you start the car..

that should get you started... Have fun.

Awesome, thanks for the tips, guys.

I already have an SS oil feed line, and I plan on using the stock return line with the bolt holes filed down. The turbo came with a RRE J-pipe and LICP, so I'm all set there as well. I will pick up some new gaskets though...is it necessary to replace the exhaust manifold gasket every time you take the manifold off?

I appreciate the help, everyone.

I plan on using the 2G stock oil return tube and I realize I'll need the gasket. Can I get this at the dealership? I'm guessing just ask for a 90-94 GST gasket?
