Finally Broke Cyclone Dyno Record! !

Stay off the track unless you have time to do a clutch job afterward. The clutch will take a crap for sure. There is a big chance that axle will shear off at the tranny too. Have a trailer on hand or you friend on speed dial. You don't have a roll cage so I would not mess around on the track. If the axle break at 140mph+, you might get messed up really bad. Be a dyno queen snd enjoy the hp goal until you are properly equip to go down the track.

Killa you always speak with wisdom I am listening clearly! ! Thanks

I posted this before on the boards but I was building an engine for a buddy and talked him into selling me this head and This is the one that's on the car now. I think it has a lot to do with the successful dyno numbers:thumb:

Not your ordinary cyclone either.

Still not getting anyone to hit me up for the three cyclone intakes I have. I guess 650hp is not enough to help sell these things. Time to go back to the Dyno for 40psi+. I think 700hp+ and 600tq+ will help me sell these intake manifold faster.

What about the intake manifold itself?? All stock or ported?

I mildly cleaned up some casting flaws and took to machine shop and had it glass beaded throught out nothing radical. biggest improvement was porting to match s90. I have some pics somewhere on my computer.

Now thats a smart dude right there!:thumb:

Very nice work. What other than the clutch and fuel supply is next? I need to see this beast some time.

Paint front bumper and hood
Replace my aluminum radiator (cracked)
Major brake upgrade!

Yeah you live only 15min from me:cool:

so you knocked me off the podium. darn you..

what fuel did you use? and what kind of dyno is that? I tried dyno ing my car in 2wd. it shredded a new set of drag radials. in short I cant dyno in 2wd. makes too much torque. no one seems to point out the obvious. you dont have enough fuel pump to make 650whp. so it indicates inflated dyno numbers. plus 2wd steels less hp.

but nice work just the same. that head is really hogfed out. surprised the water jackets held on the exhaust side. gotta be paper thin.

Its okay you feel that way but despite your doubt I will still take some time to answer your questions. Let me say this I have witness 1800whp and 1200lbs torque car in person dyno without tearing up tires our little 500 to 600lbs of torque is nothing, so now that we got that out of the way on to the questions. Fuel used E85 and this debate about having enough pump to support 653whp has already been discussed the jay racing 342 can support around 700whp on e85 its an awesome pump for further info read this thread by Oscar motorsport and you can apologize later for your ignorant comment of false accusation of inflation of hp numbers and I accept it in advance

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/ven...y-racing-pro-series-pt341-drop-fuel-pump.html this was awd which read about 3 to 5% less than fwd add 5% to that number you get 652.8 and he indicated that the pump still wasn't maxed out I must say from my personal experience I second his statement because mine wasn't maxed out either.

Okay as far as the head is concerned its a mild port job, to be more precise casting cleaning only jerry was given specific instruction by me no to make the ports bigger just to make them flow better and I must say he did an awesome job. The head still have stock size valves its considered by jerry to be a stage 1.5 port job nicely done! As far as spinning on the dyno my car did have issues keep traction and we think torque numbers should have been around 600lbs with a better clutch. Just hang around and in a little bit you will see the cyclone put down nearly 700 before its said and done OMG my set up still have some more left in it;)

The dyno used was dyno jet. dynolab.net call them and they can verify if you are still skeptical alone with the crowd there that was mostly v8 guys downing the car until the first 3rd gear pull then it got pretty quiet LOL. They couldn't believe a 4 cylinder could accomplish such massive hp and torque numbers :hmm: then they realized its the car of the "mad scientist" that's what they call me at dynolab:rolleyes:

its cool man. my record was like the babe ruth home record. he didnt have a record to shoot for. he was just chowing hot dogs doing his own thing. Then 50 years later hank took the record because he had a goal to shoot for and got the job done.

I hope you can get to 700whp. it is a 850whp turbo. kinda like clubbing baby seals.

I like the cyclone its a nice manifold and I could very well make more with bigger cam and another manifold but I am satisfied with it. I must say you set the bar high I hae been chasing this record for over a year:cool: don't take me wrong you have inspired a lot of us to use the cyclone and if it was not for your original post I would have been just like everybody else SMIM:p You are a pioneer "One who blaze the trial" my friend:thumb: I am just following it!

I still like the cyclone myself. I think its one of the best mods avaiable. works better than modern day mivec. your graph is fastestest spooling 6266 I have seen. my car has been idle for last five years. been tweaking the setup the last few months. I am still amazed at how fast it spools with such a big turbo. I am hoping to squeeze another 30-40hp but will see.

Well its all in the cam tuning. I set the bc272s for nearly zero overlap one trick I learned during the cam testing turbo mskin 30 psi around 48oorpm:p

Keep doing what your doing Kels this is all great news. :hellyeah:Nice, the record was also broken with a 2.0L 6 bolt with the prior record being a 2.4L. That to me is what should be obvious. ROFL Means your setup is very very efficient. I'm hoping to make the 500whp club with my cyclone,93 oct,1450's,-8 lines present and new 400lph pump soon or sometime this fall.

:DHey now where is the video for my cyclone:(ROFL

I want music and alllll!ROFL

Just kidding. But nice how you put that together.:thumb:

I am not a big turbo guy so I only casually look at big turbo graphs. but I did spend some time looking at 6266 graphs. I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the fast spool you are getting for this size turbo. do you know how much extra lobe separation you are using? curious if manifold or cam timing is doing this.. there is a guy who did a mivec gear on a/t dsm and held the intake cam advanced like 35 degrees till 5500. it made stupid good spool improvements. like from 9 to 2 seconds to spool the converter.

is your hotside in scroll?

Dear God. over 600 on a GS-T? I hope you're prepared to buy tires every week. Congrats man, that's a big thing to say.
