I'm making for 1gbs a headlight that has a intake that is on the lowbeam slot, But leaves you high beams and signal lights.

I've been trying to figure out a filter I can get to work in there, I found a quad filter that fits nice in there, But will it be to restrictive? it's a K&N filter.

Any thoughts? Trying to keep the bugs and such out from my charging system yet getting the coolest air possible.

no i've made a pipe the connects to the headlight.. so the headlight and pipe to the turbo are one piece but can be de attached to remove.

A filter made for a quad will be restrictive.

Any filter suggestions. I do have a carb filter that is ment for a big block sitting around that I could cut and fit snug.

Do you have a picture of it? I'am kind of interested to see that.

Once I get everything togther*ie find a filter* I will possible post pictures. I'm not looking to sell it or show how i made it currently. i've spent around 4 months working on this.

One peice huh.Interesting.I'd love to see some photo's.

Not sure of the size of the low beam area, but why not just fit the headlight with a pipe that runs to the filter?Simple and effective. And definatly not 4 months worth of work.LOL

Gives the air a option to no track into the turbo and gives it some heat exchange with air from under the hood.

A friend and I are doing this as well. Except with a 2g. The 1gb headlight is quite small compared to a 2g headlight. We fit a 3" pipe through the high beam portion of the headlight. The headlight and the pipe travelling through are one unit. Then a coupler attached to the back of the headlight on the pipe, and lastly another pipe going straight for the turbo.

We havent sealed the pipe in the front of the headlight yet. Some ideas we are going to pursue are window weld and fiberglass.

I personally like the velocity stack design.

Unless its pouring outside rain would not be an issue. I rain a cold air intake with the filter in the wheel well on my old daily driver for years and years, even without wheel well splash shields it never sucked up enough water to hydrolock.

Even the slightest rain would be an issue with this! This is in the front of the vehicle where wind and normal aerodynamics will be getting sucked and pushed into it. That's why this would be for track/ sunny day use only.

Unless its thunderstorm or hurricane type waether you just won't suck in enough water to hydrolock an engine. Why do you think people make water injection systems? The water injection cools the charge, but its not enough to lock an engine, you gotta suck in enough water to squelch the burn...

Do you realize you are comparing a mist with drops?
