fidanza cam gear install on a 95

Hi i am installing fidanza cam gears on my 95 gsx. I'm planning on keeping the cas on the back of the intake gear. The stock screws feel like they are the wrong thread size/pitch for the fidanza gears.
Has anybody had this problem before?

To my knowledge, Fidanza cam gears are the only ones that do work for the 95-96 cam sensor. Just for reference, the sensor plate bolts are M5 x .8mm.

How does this in any way relate to installing cam gears on a 95-96 DSM?

FYI the AEM adjustable Cam Gears are direct bolt-on too, even the screws for the CAS plate on 95-96 years.

The plate fits in position without issue. The screws that hold the plate in place should just be replaced when installing the gears on a 95/96.
I made mine work (screws) but It would be easier to replace them. The thread size on the fidanza gear was the same just a little tight and the depth was shallower than stock. There is an unthreaded portion of the screw under the head that I presume is to center the plate. The stock gear has a recess around the screw holes to eliminate any interference with the unthreaded portion of the screw.

Maybe find a M5x.8 thread chaser/die and run it through the threads a 20+ plus years old and could just need a little reminder .... a kinda DSM Alzheimers ....
