FIAV BYPASS but still fast idle? Wheres wax pellet??

I did an FIAV bypass using the plate. My idle used to be around 2000 (without the bypass plate) and then went down to normal as it warmed up. Not its around 1300 to 1400 then goes down to normal as it warms up. Is that normal, even though the FIAV is bypassed? It doesnt surge or anything, just seems like it still has the "fast idle". Also, where is the wax pellet supposed to be?? When I took the FIAV apart I saw a screw holding a metal bracket on...took the screw and bracket off, didnt see any wax pellet anywhere??

FYI, there is no wax pellet.

Why would there be talk of the wax pellet that floats around and when it heats up the idle goes down? That's weird.

Anyways, since I DO have the bypass plate, did I still need to remove the freeze plug and all that other stuff? Because I didn't do that. I just took off that center screw/metal bracket thing and installed the plate between the FIAV and TB

No you will not need to do the valve mod. Your block off plate already blocks the coolant from flowing through the t-body.

Sounds like its working as it should.

Thanks....so it is supposed to have a bit of a fast idle until warmup? That is fine with me...just checking to make sure it's normal

I've never done the mod, but I would assume the car should do that. You don't want to idle a car at low rpms to warm it up. You want it to warm up as quickly as it can.

My friends car does the same as yours does though.
