I am kinda new to eclipse's but still learning, and have few questions..

If you are installing any of these things (exhaust, intercooler, cold air intake or just any other thing that gives you horse power), do you have to reprogram or just do something to the ECU?

So basically i am going to get my eclipse soon. And kinda want to see your guys opinions, on what parts should i get with 1000-3000 budget, which includes, intercooler, cold air intake, new exhaust and some other things that need upgrading if you upgrade any of those things. I am not going to get all the parts at once, but in 3-6 months, i would get everything together. So basically, i wanna know what can i install, and on what should i wait on to installing later on. Like i am pretty sure, you have to upgrade your clutch if you are upgrading to more horsepower if i am not wrong.

I also want a gs-t or gsx. That would be atleast 80 percent stock.

Help will be appreciated! :thumb:

Also is this worth the money?

For things like intercooler and intake you don't have to do nothing to the ECU. And if you are looking for power, you will need a FMIC, bigger turbo and supporting mods along with a tuning program. And yes, when you buy a dsm, try to get one that's mostly stock.

Stay away from ebay turbos.

Alrighty thanks, also any recomendations, on injectors, turbo, and other stuff?

because i want to know as much as i can so i can easily work on my eclipse when i get it, i would really love to see someone give me a nice list of mods for 1000-2000 bucks, without intercooler and cold air intake.

EDIT: Getting a 2g.

DSMlink v3
Wideband
Boost gauge
3" downpipe
3" catback

The first thing you should do is maintenance like timing belt, waterpump, fluids etc...

Thanks maniak really helped me alot.

I also kinda want to get some new brakes, and some nice wheels, any recomendations on that?

I actually did read tons of these and others. I am not a pro with dsm's and stuff. I am just trying to start off with maintainance and then going to small mods as i said before, and by searching i couldn't really find the right performance/price parts that i would need, by that i mean, intercooler, boost gauges, cold air intake and exhaust with down pipe. I just need the best rated brands.

Well you've come to the right place. The answers to all your questions and more are all available if you just search this site!

a lot of the ebay stuff is just chinese junk. if you want something cheaper and know what you want, try and see if you can find it cheaper on ebay but if you see something offered on ebay that isn't offerend anywhere else and it's cheap, remember you get what you pay for. nad I'm talking about brands. I was looking up clutches and found some nice prices on ebay but brands i had never seen only to find bad reviews from people who had tried them.

Honestly when it comes to col air intake, I wouldn't put it on my priorities. I don't believe much in them, some other people do though. And like mentioned before, when you buy the car, start up with all your maintenance; All fluids, plugs and wires, timing belt, water pump, boost leak test, etc. Then I would do a FMIC along with a wideband and boost gauge.
