You heard it. If i can't get an ecu from a friend then I will likely not be running DSMLink, which sucks but I'm placing this thread to help me and others that just cant get that holy grail of dsm tuning, and can't afford to go full standalone. I'm pretty sure that only one of my options has ignition tuning, (e-manage optional?) which i think most will agree can make a big difference. Enjoy.

Of course wait for DSMLink but if you can't/don't want to, a 95 ECU/keydiver chip/AFC would be best. If you can't get the 95 ECU at all, I guess a MAFT/datalogger or SAFC/datalogger would do the trick.

im inclined to agree too, i would need the 95 ecu... if i can get it for 100 or less im so down, but this thread might be useful to those that have a 96+ and are real budget

Good luck on finding one for $100. I bought mine from Extreme Motorsports already socketed for $300. With the software and a used laptop I have about $1300 spent on DSM link, don't regret it for a second. I know it can be had for cheaper than this but I think it was worth every cent I spent. If you do buy an SAFC you'll probably end up getting DSM link eventually. I found it is best to go all out or nothing at all.

oh well... i do know where i can get a cheep one. but i just hope the guy call s me back

You can spread the cost out. That's what I'm doing basicly so I can fix the body on my car(damn hit&run) rather than dump all my money into the engine. I picked up the ECU and a DSMchips.com chip for my 650cc injectors and a MAFT for some fine tuning and a blow through set up. All together cost a little over $500. Now whenever I'm ready I can spend the money on the DSMLink and still use everything I've already purchased except for the cheap $100 chip which I might be able to resell and in the end only end up losing $50?? Not too bad imho
